Do you find yourself worrying? I must say it’s an easy thing to fall into during 2020 with the COVID Virus, upcoming elections, job loss, job threats, etc…

Yet, the Lord said, Do not take thought for what you will eat or drink.

After all, the Lord created your body. He put every bone into place, he put every organ into the right location, he created lungs to breath, ears to hear, eyes to see, nose to smell and nerve endings in the body that allows us to touch items and feel if that surface is smooth or rough, hot or cold.

Yet we still find ourselves concerned about how ourselves, mate, children or grandchildren can possibly figure out how to survive the turmoil of our new world and what is to come.

The answer is, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding, as it will lead you astray. If the Lord has the power and knowledge to know how to create your body in a way that you are able to stand up, breath, process food, pump your blood through the body, not just for one day but for a lifetime, do you not think he will care for you, if you are fully leaning into him? If he knows how to make a seed lay dormant in the ground and at the perfect time; life spring into the seed and cause it to spring up through the heavy soil and produce the most beautiful bloom you have ever seen. Why can’t he figure out how to meet your need?

Take no thought means, do not be anxious, do not allow this to dominate your being, do not be consumed with stress and anxiety but lay that burden on the Lord, for he cares for you.

I recently read a story about how a family had no food during the depression. The lady was a young girl at the time and had gone outside for some fresh air. A bird fell from the sky. The bird had been shot, so even though they were hungry they figured a neighbor had shot it for a meal. They asked all the neighbors and not one person claimed the bird. They took the bird home, cooked it up and had a meal for the family. This shows that not only during the old testament and new testament days, we also are followers of Jesus Christ and because of that, the Lord will take care of his people.

I have found that the Lord provides me with the most beautiful clothes without having to spend large amounts of money for my clothing. Many times I have ladies give me above an beyond what I need in clothing. Is this not the Lord providing for the need for clothing so we can spend more on true needs for others?

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Matthew 6:25
