WHAT MAKES YOU FREE?

Have you ever watched someone entangled in sin?  You would think they would be miserable, but many times they seem perfectly content living in sin.

We even watch them try to pull others into this realm with them.  Never content to be serving the master of sin by themselves, they need others joining them so they can feel justified.

Over the years I have had some pretty sound christian individuals try to pull me into the sin they commit and even poke fun, if I decide I would rather not participate.

Have you ever seen an individual bogged so deep in sin they were repulsed by it, but unable to be set free?  I have seen many of these individuals over the years.  We knew one man who drank all the time and was never seen sober by anyone we ever knew.  He would stop by the church and tell my husband how awful the alcohol was.  He would tell him he wished he could speak to the younger generation and say, “Don’t ever take a drink.”

This man carried the weight of the world on his shoulders and couldn’t figure out how to break free.

There are many who carry the weight of abortions, drugs, alcohol, theft, possibly even rape or murder and need freedom from it.

Their heart and soul cries out, “Oh to be free from the bandage of these sins!”

Jesus Christ offers that freedom.  Just get into the Word of God and start reading John, Psalms & Proverbs.  Start seeking the heart and mind of God and in doing so, the chains will start to fall.

Does this mean you will find immediate freedom?  Not always, as you notice I said, “The chains will start to fall.”   Many times we introduce ourselves to a lifestyle slowly and suddenly we feel we are engulfed in the lifestyle.

In Christ you can find immediate salvation!

To find healing, you may have to walk the path out of bondage daily, seeking the Lords help, though bible study and prayer.

To find this freedom, lay down the old life and put on the new life.  (Ephesians 4:22-24)

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
