THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” was recorded by Otis Redding in 1967. This is a song my daughter would sing while in the hospital waiting for another surgery, the year she had six or seven surgeries; one after another.

Do you ever feel like you are just sitting on the dock of the bay watching the time fly away?

I certainly do, as I am also at this time waiting to have back surgery. Not able to work my job, pass out books, or really do much other than sit and blog and feel as if I am wasting the time away for weeks now.

Seeing the photo posted above helped me remember my focus needs to be on things that are pure, holy, just, and things that edify; rather than things that bring discouragement.

Sitting here on the dock of the bay reminds me of a cool morning breeze, the smell of freshness and that there are new beginnings waiting to be discovered.

We need to put the past behind us and press towards the mark of the high calling of God. Many times we sit by the dock of the bay and let the time pass away without ever seeing the Lord moving. Be it wonderful to rest, be restored and revived; it is also good to see the Lord is stirring the waters and may be getting ready to move in a new way that would require a new focus.

Would you be willing and ready or would you continue to sit on the dock of the bay watching the time pass away?

This is the day the Lord has made, so be sure to look for the beauty in this day he has given you.
