CHALLENGES OF CHANGING THE COURSE

Very few things make rapid change of direction without issues, yet in the 21st Century there have been more changes made than in the last one hundred years.
Watching the wind and clouds moving across a sky can be mesmerizing. Standing on the an ocean front can be alluring, sublime and/or romantic. Although, both the winds that make the clouds move into those mesmerizing displays of beauty, can suddenly change into a tornado and forcefully break apart a home, a city block or even a small town or village.
Watching the ocean can be the same as watching those memorizing clouds. The same waves that splash gently over your bare feet while taking a romantic walk on the ocean can suddenly turn into a tsunami, as a sudden sift in the ocean floor occurs. When the wind suddenly shift out in the ocean, the clouds and waves will join in, beginning a devastating force called a hurricane.
As the winds of change have moved so rapidly through our world over the present century, we have also watched the devastation it has caused. We have embraced these enormous changes not understanding the damage it would bring to individuals, cities, and/or our world.
A captain of a ship understands the need to slowly navigate the great sea. This captain understands that changing the course of his great vessel could cause damage to the hull leading to the great vessel filling with water, causing this beautiful powerful ship to sink to the bottom of the sea.
We are truly paying the price in the 21st Century for so many rapid changes without adequate planning.
Not only did the waves begin to rise, but the clouds also picked up momentum and many were found in the pathway and destroyed suddenly. Many have families left behind grieving due to the virus that was unleashed on the world. Many were caught without jobs and became suicidal. There were those destroyed by shootings or beaten to death. Others were exposed to various types of destruction such as being one of the unwanted births or caught stuck in a home with someone that was abusive. This list could go on for quite some time, but we are all very aware of the great destruction of 2020, no matter what part of the country one lives in.
The only thing that seemed to stay true, consistent and unchanging during this time was the Lord, as all other foundations shifted what seemed like daily.
Each morning we would turn on the news to see what changes had taken place while we were sleeping. Like never before in my lifetime, the changes taking place just in one day could spark an avalanche of fear, lest you trust in the Lord.
Each morning Steve and I would have a devotion out of the Word of God and found this time reassuring.
Amazing how around 2000 years ago these words were written, completed and still ring true.
We were in great need of a foundation that was solid and the Word of God provided that foundation, helping us to know there was hope. All other ground was sinking sound, but the Word of the Lord was solid, unmovable and secure. Although daily the words being portrayed as truth were revealed to be lies only days later, it was so important for me to have the assurance, the Word of God has such a firm foundation, for us to live by.
Matthew 7:24-27
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand.
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell and great was the fall of it.

Was given the greatest Heritage anyone could be given. My grandmother prayed for her family constantly, pouring the Living Water over their lives and asking God to change their lives. Born into a ministers family and determined to keep Passing The Baton down from generation to generation

Beautifully said! Each day I have to remind myself and it’s nice to have the reminder in my mail box. Thanks for taking time to comfort others.
