MISSION STATEMENT

DIGGING A WELL MINISTRIES

The purpose and mission of Digging a Well Ministries is:

Walking with God – To be servants of God that spend time in the word of God and prayer seeking his will for each of our lives. (Acts 6.4)

Waiting on the Lord – To be servants of God willing to wait patiently for the will and guidance for the furtherance of the gospel. (Ps 27.14; Is 40.31; Acts 1.4)

Winning others to Christ – To be a servant willing to witness and lead others to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and assist, when possible, in helping them to find a bible believing church in which to connect. (Acts 2.41,47)

Willing to let God move – To be a servant willing to allow God to be the one who opens doors and closes them and shows us what his will is. (Re 3.7)

Work toward providing:

  1. Hope to the hopeless,
  2. Peace to the broken-hearted,
  3. Mercy and grace for the fallen.

Publishing and distribution of gospel literature such as (but not limited to) the books, Digging A Well, and Let Everything that hath Breath Praise the Lord, in such places.

  1. Women’s Shelters
  2. Homeless Shelters
  3. Street Ministries
  4. Prolife Clinics
  5. Prisons
  6. Nursing Homes
  7. People with Addictions
  8. Missionaries in other countries (includes the translating of the books)
  9. Doctor’s Offices

Networking – Working and networking with other ministries to accomplish these goals.  

The founder of Digging a Well Ministries, Sherry Long will be its founding Executive Director. Sherry will have the authority to execute and direct the ministry with the watch care and guidance of a committee (also known as board). Initially the committee will be handpicked by Sherry. Any later additions to the committee must be approved by a majority of the existing committee.

Committee meetings are to be held quarterly with a quorum being at least three people.  Called meetings may be held with a three day notice by the chairman of the committee.

Committee officers will be:

  1. Chairman – One who chairs or moderates the meeting.
  2. Vice-chairman – Chairs or moderates in the Chairman’s absence
  3. Secretary -Takes the minutes of the meeting.

Others on the committee may fill the vacancy if one or more of the above are absent.
